Smoke in Shulus: We have had reports that a “prescribed burn” below Shulus Gardens and the Arena was fanned out of control by the wind. The BC Wildfire Service was called in to assist in controlling the fire. This in turn automatically triggers an investigation by the Ministry of Forests Natural Resource Officers (peace officers). The investigation is serious and the Band administration and Council will be informed of the investigation results. The matter is of great importance and we are thankful for the government assistance both in controlling the fire and investigating its cause. Thank you as well to our alert community members!
