As many of you have heard a tragedy is unfolding at Lytton and spreading towards Spences Bridge. LNIB Council has had an emergency meeting tonight and committed LNIB’s support to the evacuees. Currently LNIB is opening the Shulus Arena to evacuees. If the Arena should reach capacity LNIB has the school and Rocky Pines Community Centre to open up. We have also sent a fire truck and four (4) Fire Department staff to support the Office of the Fire Commissioner. We also have a number of staff supporting the Reception Centre. First Nations Emergency Services Society is also on site supporting LNIB and Lytton. As more information becomes available, we will keep you updated.
