Economic Development

The Economic Development department works under the direction of the Lower Nicola Indian Band Administration and Chief & Council.  The department researches and develops local economic opportunities available to the community. 

Increasing knowledge of the opportunities and trends available will assist the Lower Nicola Indian Band in their efforts towards economic growth and self (community) sustainability. 

Concentration on improving and/or sustaining human, economic and natural capital will be priorities to the Economic Development department of the Lower Nicola Indian Band.

Leesa Mike has been employed with the LNIB as the Economic Development Manager since May 2003.  Leesa’s educational background is in Business Administration, Community Economic Development and Management Skills for Supervisors.  Leesa has extensive knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of a variety of different projects.
